Where To Stay In Istria, Croatia

Istria is by far one of my favorite regions in Croatia, and one of the best places to visit in Croatia for food and wine enthusiasts!
You will instantly fall in love with the charming towns and quaint seaside villages, the stunning Italianesque landscapes and, of course, the incredible food and wine the region offers (did someone say olive oil and truffles!?).
Although the region is fairly small and completely drivable, with so many wonderful places to choose from, it can be hard to narrow down the best places to base your stay.
I’ve been fortunate enough to visit this captivating region multiple times, and I will forever choose to stay at one of Olive & Spice Croatia‘s gorgeous and luxurious properties, whenever I return to Croatia!

La Vita Bella Villa
If you are wondering where to stay in Istria that has the perfect combination of luxurious amenities, yet still embodies the warmth of a cozy, Istrian villa, then look no further than La Vita Bella!

I just cant get enough of the decor at La Vita Bella, which was inspired from their travels all over the world!
Featuring textiles that remind you of strolling through Morocco, chic, white-washed furniture reminiscent of Parisian apartments and bistros as well as splashes of blue and white throughout the property that transport you to Santorini, Greece–there really isn’t anything missing from this perfect Istrian home.
La Vita Bella is a little off the beaten path, which I personally love about it, but it’s also a very close drive to Poreč (more on this beautiful, coastal town below) and the perfect location to base your stay and explore all of Istria!
Apartment Prosecco, Poreč
Located in the heart of Poreč, a beautiful coastal town on the western coast of the Istrian peninsula, Apartment Prosecco is another one of the best places to stay in Istria, Croatia!
Being another Olive & Spice property, the best way to describe this stunning apartment (if you can’t already tell by the photos) is LUXURIOUS, LUXURIOUS, LUXURIOUS!
This completely remodeled apartment features everything you could ever want when staying in an Airbnb in Europe.
Designed with top-of-the-line fixtures and furniture, they really focused on making sure every luxurious amenity that we’re used to in America is present in this home–with no expense spared!
Some of these amenities include central air conditioning (hallelujah!), a washer/dryer, wifi, free street parking (which is amazing, since you’ll want a car to explore Istria!) and even a flat-screen TV with Netflix already logged in for you! Plus, the most comfortable and luxurious bedding you can imagine.
Also, Apartment Prosecco is just a 1 minute walk to the main square in Poreč, as well as a 1 min walk to the sea!
Poreč is a gorgeous town, and I really loved exploring this city and having it as my home base, as well, when I visited Istria the second time.
Even though this property is only 1 bedroom, the couch in the living room area is a pullout couch, so this apartment still sleeps 4 people comfortably.
I mean…just look at this bedroom with that beautiful claw foot tub! It’s like staying in a luxury hotel, but better!
Summer Sanctuary in Poreč (Private Room in Guest Suite)
For a slightly more quaint and smaller option, this newly remodeled private room, Summer Sanctuary, is another one of the best places to stay in Istria for a solo traveler or a couple on a smaller budget!
Nestled in a quiet, picturesque park, directly in the heart of the Old Town of Poreč, this cozy room is steps away from all the best nightlife, historical sights and restaurants!
Plus, the apartment itself is located in one of the most beautiful and historic buildings in Poreč! It’s like walking back in time upon entering the apartment, yet it’s (of course) equipped with all the amenities you might need!
With your own private room and private bathroom, and at such an affordable price, you really can’t beat this Airbnb when deciding where to stay in Istria!
